Job Description: 

Position Summary

 

The Manager, Procurement is responsible for direct procurement activity for company-wide requirements, soft goods, disposables and non-production related services, goods, and materials.  Includes pricing, quality, specifications, value improvements, quotations, supplier selection, purchase order placement and execution of corporate policies.

Essential Functions (ES) and Responsibilities

  • Continuous review and management of MRP to ensure that it is up to date and accurate requirements are being generated.
  • Interface with Planning, Quality Control, Accounts Payable, and Warehousing functions on a regular basis to ensure that the purchasing function consistently meets their needs.
  • Develop and maintain procurement analysis for key materials detailing past and current purchasing activity, price and supply trends, market trends, and future purchasing strategy.
  • Develop and manage the annual pricing process.
  • Establish and implement policies, procedures and communications which will ensure that the purchasing function is carried out legally, efficiently, and professionally throughout the organization.  Fulfill government regulations as required. 
  • Establish and maintain equitable relationships with suppliers. Develop long-term relationships with key manufacturers to support the competitive positioning of ADMA. Meet regularly with key suppliers to ensure continuity of negotiation for continuous quality of price and service.
  • Generate purchase orders in SAP and schedule deliveries to support production.
  • Lead Materials Management cost reduction activities and communicate cost savings philosophy to staff. 
  • Monitor inventory levels and set standards of materials purchased. Assist in development of planned inventory levels, report progress against plans, and provide corrective action support for inventories that vary from plan, including disposition of excess inventories.
  • Organize/direct procurement and contracting activity for all raw materials, soft goods, and disposables at all ADMA locations to ensure price, quality, and service goals are met.   
  • Survey Purchasing’s internal customers to ensure services provided meet the organization’s present and future requirements.
  • Work with vendors (as required) to resolve material shortages by finding approved substitutions or by escalating requests for expedition.
  • Oversee supplier compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations.

Experience Requirements

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, materials management, or related field; master's degree preferred. 
  • Certification in Purchasing Management (CPM) and Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred.

 

Experience Requirements:

  • One to three years of progressive experience in a purchasing and sourcing role, with experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.

The minimum compliance expectation for this role entails strict adherence to FDA regulations and company policies governing sales and marketing activities. This includes completion of required compliance training, accurate documentation of sales interactions, and adherence to data privacy regulations. Additionally, the role requires proactive participation in compliance reviews, prompt reporting of any potential issues, and ongoing education to stay updated on relevant FDA regulations.
